Catalytic activity of RvCA5 and NEXT-RvCA5.
(A) Esterase activity using p-NPA as the substrate. The formation of p-NP by the hydrolysis of p-NPA was monitored at 348 nm. (B) CO2 hydration activity using CO2-saturated water as the substrate. Phenol red was used as the pH indicator. The decrease of pH by the CO2 hydration reaction was monitored at 570 nm.
